Since hardly anything has been able to keep up with the McLaren 720S, perhaps its greatest challenge yet will come from something with an identical badge.
Racing a 720S against a 650S straight up would of course result in an easy win for the newer and more powerful model. However, add more power to the 650S, a formidable car in its own right, and you might just make things interesting.
This particular 650S is packing 829 horses, so roughly 110 more than the 720S. It's all thanks to an Evolution Motorsports tune which includes upgraded turbochargers and high flow catalytic converters.
Now keep in mind that even when stock, the 650S will breeze to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3 seconds flat, on its way to a maximum speed of 333 km/h (207 mph). The 720S on the other hand will do that sprint in under 3 seconds, and max out at 341 km/h (212 mph).
Since this 650S has an extra 180 horses, do you think it could handle the 720S from a rolling start? All we'll say is that it's close.
