At first look, this comparison should have never happened but since the Nissan GT-R Nismo is more expensive than an Audi R8 V10 Plus, a closer examination might be justified.
Tiff Needell returns to our screens via Evo magazine’s channel, pitting the two sports cars against each other on a track holding a stopwatch.
The most aggressive version of the Nissan GT-R comes courtesy of Nismo with a stiffer bodyshell and a set of upgraded shock absorbers, springs and stabilizers for an almost racecar-feel around a track.
The 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 is now using a pair of high-flow turbochargers used in the GT3 race car, producing 592hp (600PS) and sending the Nismo GT-R to 62mph in 2.7 seconds.
The Audi R8 V10 Plus on the other hand seems a bit docile by comparison, even if it’s a mid-engined supercar bargain. There are no turbos here, just a naturally aspirated V10 with more horsepower than the Nismo but around 20 percent less torque. It’s also almost 200kg lighter than the GT-R Nismo, so that should make things interesting.
Which one posted the faster lap time? There is only one way to find out.
