Audi RS6 Performance Seeks Redemption Against Tesla Model S P90D

If you're here to root for the internal combustion engine, watching it in twin turbo V8 form taking on a fully electrified powertrain is as good as it gets.

We know what the Tesla Model S P90D can do. It's won countless drag races, and that's mostly because it will hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than 3 seconds and has this little thing called instant torque pulling it forward.

On paper, the RS6 Performance is about a second slower to 100 km/h, but packs a whooping 605 PS (597 HP) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, not to mention a conventional 8-speed tiptronic gearbox.

As many of these races do, in the end it came down to distance, and whether or not the RS6 had enough room to stretch its legs and put up as much of a fight as it could.

Off the line though, we know that you know who jumped out ahead.
