Just before the 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS celebrates its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, a number of official images of the car have surfaced online.
The pictures, leaked by Rennlist and picked up by GTspirit, offer us our first detailed look at the hardcore 911 since its preview at E3 2017 alongside the premiere of Forza 7.
As those previously published images revealed, the GT2 RS looks dramatically different to any other 911 variant thanks to its host of new aerodynamic components and gaping wide air intakes, particularly at the front. A number of matte black elements across the body help to provide the car with an even more dramatic look.
Just like the exterior, the inside is also rather special. The example pictured is bathed in red and black alcantara and leather elements and also includes a comprehensive rollcage behind the seats. Other distinctive touches include an outline of the Weissach track on the headrests and a 'Weissach RS' badge on the dashboard.
Porsche has yet to reveal how much power the twin-turbo 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine of the GT2 RS delivers but reports indicate it delivers 700 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque, allowing the 911 to hit 96 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than 3 seconds and a 341 km/h (212 mph) top speed.
