Ferrari 430 Scuderia Review: Is It Really Worth Double The Price Of An F430?

Whenever Ferrari creates a hardcore, mid-engine V8 supercar, you can rest assured that it will be class-leading and become a prized collector’s item. The 430 Scuderia is a perfect example of this.

Premiering three years after the regular F430, the Scuderia was developed with the help of Michael Schumacher and benefited from a more aggressive appearance and some significant hardware upgrades and could match the famed Enzo around Ferrari’s Fiorano Circuit.

At the centrepiece of it all was a revised 4.3-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine tuned to deliver 503 hp at a screaming 8500 rpm. Supercars nowadays are pushing beyond the 700 hp range, but unless you’re on a racetrack, you’re never going to need more than 500 hp on the street.

Doug DeMuro recently had the chance to experience a 430 Scuderia, and beyond talking about its impressive performance, mentions that pristine examples are worth well over double a standard F430. Is it actually worth that much? Check out the video after the jump to find out.
