Mercedes-Benz Posts Record Half Year Sales


Mercedes-Benz has posted its best ever half year sales results alongside an ultra-successful second quarter and prolific June.

In the first six months of the year, the German automaker sold 1,144,274 vehicles, a 13.7 per cent over the same time period in 2016.

Europe remains the company’s largest market and in the first half of 2017, accounted for 484,120 sales, 8.9 per cent higher than the year prior. European demand for Mercedes-Benz vehicles have also allowed the company to set new first half year sales records in the UK, France, Spain, Belgium and Switzerland.

The next most popular region for Mercedes-Benz vehicles was Asia Pacific, accounting for 438,710 sales and a significant 26.7 per cent jump over 2016. Sales in China leaped by 34.5 per cent while significant gains were also reported in South Korea (47.3 per cent), Australia (8.5 per cent), Taiwan (10.9 per cent) and India (8.7 per cent). In the USA, Canada and Mexico, a total of 193,399 vehicles were sold, 2.1 per cent more than 2016.

In June alone, 221,874 vehicles were sold through the company while in the second quarter, a new record was set at 583,649 vehicles delivered worldwide.
