Yep, The Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R Also Works At UK Tracks

When it comes to bang for your buck performance cars, it is hard to beat the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R.

Priced from $61,295 in the U.S., the GT350R may be expensive for a Mustang, but when you consider the performance it delivers as well as the technology it adopts, including ultra-expensive carbon fiber wheels, that asking price becomes rather reasonable.

On the road, the GT350R is more than comfortable enough to be driven daily and as Car Throttle recently discovered, it is also particularly potent on a racetrack, even if that track is in the UK on a wet and miserable day.

Ford recently announced that the GT350 and GT350R would survive through the 2018 model year and it’s little wonder why. The sports car’s naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V8 is arguably the most characterful engine currently built by Ford and delivers 526 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. The car also gets advanced MagneRide dampers, Brembo brakes and the aforementioned carbon fiber wheels.

It’s hard to imagine how Ford will surpass the GT350R, but if rumors about the impending 2018 GT500 prove accurate, it could be on the verge of doing just that.
