Aston Martin Goes Into The Submarine Business With Triton

The Aston Martin name will soon be found on the bottom of the world's seas and oceans, as the British automaker has teamed up with Triton Submarines LLC, a submersible manufacturer.

Codenamed 'Project Neptune', the venture is Aston Martin Consulting's first project, and it will lead to the development of an exclusive, strictly limited edition vehicle.

It's based on Triton's Low Profile (LP) three-person platform, which benefits from the carmaker's design language, materials, and craftsmanship, and it aims to "enhance the superyacht ownership experience" by introducing "the new generation of yacht owners to the deep ocean".

"Project Neptune is defined by its sleek, elegant exterior. We have used forms and proportions that express the same devotion to design, engineering, and beauty that shape our cars, such as the Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar project", commented the British marque's Chief Creative Officer and Executive Vice President, Marek Reichman.

Aston Martin Consulting's Managing Director, Bradley Yorke-Biggs, has also expressed his enthusiasm in regards to their new collaboration: "Project Neptune is a flagship project for Aston Martin Consulting. It is a clear and engaging demonstration of how Aston Martin's expertise in sports car design and craftsmanship can be extended into new aspects of the luxury world."

Committed to producing "the safest and best performing deep-diving submersibles in the world", Triton is already making such vehicles for researchers, explorers, and superyacht owners. The company was founded in Florida, by L. Bruce Jones and Patrick Lahey, and it's said to be "the most experienced civil submarine and submersible manufacturer in the world".
