VW I.D. Crozz Concept Moves Closer To Production, Debuts At Frankfurt

Volkswagen will be presenting a further developed version of the I.D. Crozz Concept at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, next week.

The show car, which builds upon the study unveiled at this year's Shanghai Auto Show, has been teased by the manufacturer on video.

No much is known about it yet, except for the fact that it has an all-electric architecture, it's "characterized by a clean, powerful design", and its lithium-ion battery, integrated into the floor, provides it with "an open-space" interior "with four variable individual seats".

Technical data has yet to be released, but the I.D. Crozz Concept shown earlier this year used two electric motors that fed 302hp to both axles, and were powered by an 83kWh battery. It had a zero-emission range of up to 500km (311 miles), and it was also capable of a respectable 0-100km/h (62mph) time of less than 6 seconds.

Volkswagen will eventually put the Crozz into production, as part of their new I.D. electric vehicle family, thus joining the Buzz, scheduled to arrive at dealers in 2022, and the hatch concept, meant for 2020.
