Hyundai has announced a series of changes to their 2018 Elantra compact sedan in the USA.

Since the model was recently introduced, this year's updates are minor and include a new SEL variant that replaces the previous SE with the Popular Equipment Package.

The Elantra SEL starts at $18,850 and the car comes nicely equipped with a seven-inch Display Audio system that has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Other highlights include a rearview camera and a 3.5-inch TFT display in the instrument cluster. Hyundai also added several safety systems including Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-traffic Alert, and Lane Change Assist.

Rounding out the equipment is automatic headlights, heated exterior mirrors, and 16-inch alloy wheels that are backed up by disc brakes.

The $22,100 Elantra Limited boasts some minor tweaks including new gloss black accents, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and HomeLink.

Last but not least, the Elantra Sport starts at $21,800 and now includes a standard power sunroof. The model also comes with Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-traffic Alert, and Lane Change Assist.

Besides the individual trim changes, the entire Elantra lineup gains a new Machine Gray exterior option and three years of Blue Link service.

Engine options carryover and include a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 147 hp (109 kW) and 132 lb-ft (178 Nm) of torque as well as a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 201 hp (149 kW) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque.
