Honda UK's 'Human Car' has arrived at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, as an abstract representation of how humans are finally closing the gap between man and machine.
No fewer than 12 performance artists were needed in order to form the shape of not just the new Civic Type R, but also the Fireblade bike. Their body positioning required a total of 48 limbs to bend and entwine in order to create a successful illusion.
Honda UK exec Dave Hodgetts admits to having never seen anything like this, while stating that "this perfectly brings to life our engineering principle of 'man maximum, machine minimum' that we work to with all of our cars."
"This was an ambitious, interesting project requiring a team of talented performers to pull off the transformation. We are delighted to launch this at Honda's stand ahead of what promises to be a fun festival at Goodwood," added Ministry of Fun choreographer, Kevin Doody.
Those visiting this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed need only drop by the Honda Challenge Lab in order to enjoy a series of exciting mental and physical challenges that include a rock climbing wall, as well as speed and cognitive challenges.
