Jaguar Teases 567HP XJR At Goodwood, Debuts This Summer

Jaguar has used the Goodwood Festival of Speed to introduce an upgraded version of the XJR.

Wrapped in blue and white camouflage, the prototype isn't shy about performance specifications as its output of 575 PS (423 kW / 567hp) is plastered everywhere on the exterior as well as embroidered on the black leather seats.

Jaguar is keeping tight-lipped about the model but the current XJR has a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that develops 550 PS (405 kW . 542hp) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which enables the car to run from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h).

Given the XJR's output of 575 PS (423 kW / 567hp), it's possible that the prototype uses the same supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that resides in the F-Type SVR. If this is correct, we can expect the engine to produce around 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. Regardless of the final numbers, the new model should be slighter quicker than the current model.

Jaguar has previously said the car was run at Goodwood to complete its final round of testing and an official debut will occur later this summer.
