Christmas came early for one lucky guy in the States, as he took delivery of the world's first Lamborghini Centenario Roadster.
Shipped just last month, the supercar arrived in a giant crate, meant to keep its body safe from any unwanted scratches, with a video posted recently on YouTube revealing the unboxing process.
Unveiled last year and shown to the public in Geneva, the Lamborghini Centenario pays tribute to Ferruccio's 100th birthday, and uses the Aventador as a starting point. However, it sets itself apart with a unique body that was made from carbon fiber, helping it tip the scales at 3,351lbs (1,520kg).
Being based on Sant'Agata Bolognese's finest supercar means that the Centenario uses the same 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, which was massaged to deliver 760hp (770PS) and 507lb-ft (690Nm) of torque to all four corners, through a 7-speed automatic gearbox. Sprinting from naught to 62mph (100km/h) takes just 2.8 seconds, and top speed stands at more than 217mph (350km/h).
Lamborghini will only make 40 units of the exotic machine, 20 coupes and 20 roadster, but buying one straight from the factory is impossible, as all of them have been spoken for. Prices for the Centenario sit at almost $2 million (€1.75 million).
