Spied: 2019 BMW X5 M Coming Fast With 600 Horses

BMW took the 2019 X5 M for some testing at its Nurburgring facilities and our spies were there to capture the moment.

The new Bavarian Super-SUV is going to be based on BMW’s CLAR platform, which will make the new X5 M lighter and more agile.

Power will come from a twin-turbo V8 and more specifically from the 4.4-liter unit that also powers the upcoming M5, with the final figures expected to be over 600hp.

Compared to other prototype X5s, this one wears a pair of more aggressive bumpers with larger air intakes under the camo wrap, has a quad-exhaust setup and features a beefier set of brakes with blue calipers.

The whole shape of the new-generation X5 will remain familiar as expected, with BMW adopting the new styling features of the fresh X3, including the more sculpted front end and a bigger kidney grille. Expect the new X5 to also offer all the latest features, including semi-autonomous capability and gesture-control infotainment systems.

The future Cayenne Turbo rival is expected to hit the market in late 2018, with production to take place at BMW’s Spartanburg factory.
