If you are out on the market for an E24 6-Series then this might brighten your day.
This is a 1984 Alpina B9 3.5 Coupe, the Buchloe-based BMW tuner’s take on the 635CSi of the era. Alpina made just 75 of these, with the particular one being an automatic example.
The seller notes that probably only a handful of B9 3.5 Coupes survive to this day, with the specific one being very original throughout. Power comes from the 3.5-liter M30 straight-six engine with an output of 245hp, mated to a four-speed auto.
The car, originally exported to Japan, has covered 83,000km since new (around 52k miles) and comes with all service records, original handbooks and both sets of keys. The bodywork is finished in Alpina White with gold Alpina decals, while all panels are said to remain original to the car.
The photos show a car that’s been well looked after through the years, with the interior featuring a retrotastic cloth upholstery with Recaro front seats. The dashboard also appears to be in a very nice condition, with no visible cracks. Even the original sticker on the automatic gearshift is still there.
These cars could do 148mph when new, with Alpina’s work to also include an upgraded engine with new Mahle pistons, a more aggressive camshaft and a tune. A set of Alpina’s specific dampers and springs are also part of the package.
The car is currently listed for sale at Seymour Pope in Kings Langley, Hertfordshire, England for the price of £59,940 (around $81k in current exchange rates).
