U Spy The 2019 Jeep Cherokee In Colorado

The Jeep Cherokee is approaching middle age and like a handful of older folks, it's going under the knife.

Recently spotted in Colorado by CarScoops reader Brett Borgard, the facelifted crossover receives a modest refreshing that will reportedly eliminate some of the model's more controversial styling cues.

The pictures don't reveal much but previous reports have suggested the Cherokee will have a new front fascia with a revised grille and modified headlights. The crossover's distinctive split headlights could be jettisoned for a more conventional setup that echoes the rest of the Jeep lineup.

The rear end is heavily disguised but it is believed the camouflage hides a new tailgate as well as a modified rear bumper. The taillights could also be updated but nothing is official as of yet.

Engine options are expected to carryover and include a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 184 hp (137 kW) and 171 lb-ft (234 Nm) of torque as well as a 3.2-liter V6 developing 271 hp (199 kW) and 239 lb-ft (316 Nm) of torque. However, there have been rumors about a new turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that would be sourced from the 2018 Wrangler.
