Kia recently announced plans to introduce the Stinger Wide Body concept at SEMA and now the automaker has revealed it is bringing the Stinger Drift Experience to the annual event.
Described as a "jaw-dropping good time," the Stinger Drift Experience will take place outside the Las Vegas Convention Center and feature professional drivers from Formula Drift. They will drive specially modified Stinger GTs on a "twisty track built for raucous tire-melting action."
The company will be holding hourly performances from October 31st to November 2nd and Kia says the only thing more impressive than their new sedan is when it's in the hands of professional drivers.
Fans who want to get in on the action aren't completely out of luck as the automaker will have a "spirited autocross" course which will give attendees a chance to get behind the wheel.
The 2018 Kia Stinger will go on sale in the United States this December and be available with two different engines. The entry-level model has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that develops 255 hp (190 kW) and 260 lb-ft (352 Nm) of torque, while the Stinger GT boasts a twin-turbo 3.3-liter V6 developing 365 hp (272 kW) and 376 lb-ft (509 Nm) of torque. The latter model can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds before hitting a top speed of 167 mph (268 km/h).
