Premium automakers typically skip the Detroit Auto Show but Rolls-Royce is bucking the trend and will stage the North American debut of the 2018 Phantom in the Motor City.
Set to become one of the star attractions at The Gallery, the Phantom was revealed over the summer and features an evolutionary design that is instantly recognizable. Despite looking similar to its predecessor, the model rides on an all-new aluminum spaceframe platform and is powered by a new twin-turbo 6.75-liter V12 engine that produces 563 hp (420 kW) and 663 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque.
While performance is important, the Phantom is all about luxury and it will treat owners to an upscale interior that features premium leather upholstery, wood trim, and a dizzying array of personalization options. Notable highlights include two 12.3-inch displays, an analogue clock, and front seats which have wood paneling on the back that hides picnic tables and an entertainment system.
Unfortunately, fans wanting to check out the Phantom will have to pay a pretty steep price as tickets to The Gallery cost $250 per person. However, participants will be treated to a fun-filled evening complete with fine food and a silent auction which will raise funds for the C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital. Visitors can also checkout $10 million worth of high-end vehicles from the likes of Aston Martin, Bentley, and Ferrari.
