Peugeot 2008 Gets More Luxurious In Allure Premium Trim

These days it's not enough for luxury automakers to put out more luxurious automobiles. Mainstream ones do, too. So while the PSA group has its own upscale division in the DS brand, it's also luxing up its more common offerings.

Say hello to the new Peugeot 2008 Allure Premium. It's based on the subcompact crossover the French automaker already offers, but fitted with more upscale accoutrements.

The fresh model sits above the existing Allure trim and alongside the sportier GT, adopting a similar approach to the 208 Allure Premium hatchback released last year.

It stands apart with color-coded mirror caps and door handles, rear spoiler, extended wheel arches, and roof rails. The Cielo panoramic glass roof comes standard, beneath which you'll find the Oxford Black interior trim, ambient lighting, 7-inch infotainment display, and Peugeot's i-Cockpit. All that equipment would normally cost £1,400 if specified in the UK on a 2008 Allure (pictured), but in this case, the Allure Premium costs just £800 more.

“The addition of the Allure Premium to the Peugeot 2008 SUV was a natural step after the success of the 208 Allure Premium, and offers SUV style, space and presence in a package that represents outstanding value for money,” said Peugeot UK marketing director Mark Pickles. “For a small premium over the already generous Allure specification, customers will enjoy a host of luxury and technology enhancements which make owning and driving a Peugeot SUV thoroughly rewarding.”

British buyers will be able to choose between a 1.2-liter PureTech three-cylinder gasoline engine, or the 1.6-liter BlueHDi diesel.
