2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 Rendering Almost Had Us Fooled

Unveiled last week, the new Mercedes-Benz A-Class has already been imagined in its range-topping AMG A45 form.

The rendering, posted by P Lis, shows the brand’s upcoming challenger to the likes of the Audi RS3 Sportback with a meaner looking exterior compared to lesser versions.

Among the changes, we notice the Panamericana grille that comes straight from the AMG GT R and will be used on other AMGs in the near future, including the GLE, a tweaked front bumper, tweaked side skirts and larger brakes.

The production Mercedes-AMG A45 will also get a tweaked chassis with stiffened suspension and lower ground clearance. It will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that’s believed to churn out more than 400 horsepower, which should shave something from the current’s car 4.2sec 0-100km/h (0-62mph) sprint. Top speed will likely remained electronically capped at 250km/h (155mph), or a little bit more if you tick the box for the optional AMG Driver’s Package.

An exact reveal date for the new-gen Mercedes-AMG A45 is unknown, but we wouldn’t be surprised if the automaker decides to show it later this year.

Finally, the rendering artist has also created two more renderings of the 2019 A-Class that depict two different body styles: Coupe and Convertible. Needless to say that Mercedes has no intention of putting them into production, as they will focus on the development of other derivatives of the A-Class, such as the Sedan, CLA, GLA, GLB and B-Class.
