2018 Ford Expedition FX4 Bows With An Assortment Of Off-Road Accessories

Ford has taken the wraps off the new FX4 Off-Road package for the 2018 Expedition, available for both the XLT and the larger Max XLT versions.

Designed to appeal to outdoor enthusiasts, the package comes with an assortment of off-road focused goodies including retuned shock absorbers, multiple skid plates, and an electronic limited-slip rear differential, as well as “sand guards” which aim to prevent sand and dirt from accumulating on the radiator and transmission cooler.

Buyers will also find an assortment of minor styling tweaks, including new running boards and FX4 badging. However, the biggest exterior change is the addition of special 18-inch wheels that are wrapped in Michelin Primacy all-terrain tires.

The interior carries over largely untouched, though the package does add rubber floor mats and what appears to be an off-road mode for the digital display in the instrument cluster.

The 2018 Expedition will go on sale this fall and come equipped with a 3.5-liter Ecoboost V6 engine that produces 375 hp (279 kW) and 470 lb-ft (636 Nm) of torque.
