Nissan Details New Qashqai Ahead Of July Launch [60 Pics]

The updated Nissan Qashqai is getting ready for its official European launch and the company has released all the details about its new SUV.

Nissan has focused on four areas with this facelift; the exterior design, better interior quality and road manners, and the addition of the company’s new semi-autonomous features.

The facelift also introduces us to the new range-topping Tekna+ trim level, which aims to give the new Nissan Qashqai a more luxurious character in a bid to compete with traditional premium rivals.

The new Nissan Qashqai Tekna+ now comes with soft nappa leather seats featuring 3D quilting, which are offered either in black or a rich plum color, a premium Bose audio system with eight speakers, satin silver door mirror caps and roof rails.

All new Nissan Qashqais now come with an updated interior that features higher-quality materials and enhancements. These include the new D-shaped steering wheel, air vents and interior door handles made out of better-quality materials, new stitching for the center console armrest.

Other features include one-touch power window switches for all four doors, new front seats that are more supportive and with slimmer backs for more knee room at the back and a new user interface for the infotainment system.

The front end of the new Nissan Qashqai has been completely revised with a new bumper, the brand’s latest ‘V-Motion’ grille and a set of new headlamp clusters with integrated LED daytime running lights. A redesigned bumper is also found at the rear as well as revised LED taillights.

Customers will be able to choose from new 17, 18 and 19-inch alloy wheels, with Nissan also adding two new and vibrant color choices at the Qashqai’s palette: Vivid Blue and Chestnut Bronze.

The chassis has been modified with retuned dampers, reduced spring rates and modified rubber components. Nissan has also increased the anti-roll bar stiffness for balanced handling performance.

The company has also added more sound insulation material inside the front doors and behind the rear wheel arches, additional sealing around the front doors and a thicker rear glass for better NVH.

Nissan’s ProPilot semi-autonomous feature will be able to control the steering, acceleration and braking in a single lane on highways, during heavy traffic and high-speed cruising. The system combines three technologies (Lane Keep Assist, Intelligent Cruise Control and Traffic Jam Pilot) and will be activated via a button on the steering wheel.

The new Nissan Qashqai will go on sale across Europe from July, with prices to be announced on the coming weeks.
