Honda Quietly Kills The Accord Coupe

If you're in the market for a mainstream mid-size coupe your options just got a lot more limited as Honda has reportedly confirmed plans to drop the Accord Coupe.

According to Roadshow, the introduction of the 2018 Accord will spell the end of the road for its coupe counterpart.

The news is hardly surprising as coupe sales were believed to only make up a tiny fraction of overall sales. The Accord Coupe's competitors have also been dropped as Nissan axed the Altima Coupe in 2013 and the Toyota Solara died an uneventful death nearly a decade ago.

Even the domestics have abandoned the once popular segment to focus on sportier models such as the Camaro, Challenger, and Mustang.

While it's sad to see the Accord Coupe die, fans can still pick up the 2017 model which starts at $24,125. Two different engine options are available and choices include a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 185 hp (137 kW) and 181 lb-ft (245 Nm) of torque as well as a 3.5-liter V6 cranking out 278 hp (207 kW) and 252 lb-ft (341 Nm) of torque.
