2018 Renault Kangoo Z.E. 33 Electric Van Costs From £14,195 In The UK

Renault has launched a new version of the Kangoo in the United Kingdom, which is known as the Z.E. 33.

It has a NEDC range of up to 170 miles (274km), but in the real world, it's expected to allow users to drive it up to 124 miles (200km), between charges.

This represents a significant improvement over the previous model, which had a NEDC range of 106 miles (171km), made possible after the automaker added a new 33kWh battery. It's the equivalent to almost double the storage capacity of the previous one, and charging it takes approximately 6 hours, from flat.

Renault offers four variations of the Kangoo Z.E., called Van, Maxi Van, Maxi Crew Van, and Maxi Crew Van Cab. The first two have two seats and a load capacity of up to 3.6m3 and 4.6m3 respectively, while the others have 5 seats and a load capacity of 1.3m3 and 3.6m3.

All versions of the electric vehicle produce 60PS (59hp) and 225Nm (166lb-ft) of torque, and need either 20.6sec or 22.3sec to accelerate from 0 to 62mph (100km/h), depending on the specification. Top speed stands at 81mph (130km/h) in all cases.

Prices for the 2018 Renault Kangoo Z.E. start from £14,194.67 ($18,392), after the Government's Plug-in Van Grant, and can go up to £16,778.67 ($21,740) for the Maxi Crew Van Cab, to which the monthly battery lease is added. Order books are open now, in Europe's largest right-hand drive market, with the first units to be delivered from November.
