Usually when we come across a flood damaged vehicle up for sale, we'd immediately advise against even considering buying it. However, the following 2014 Aston Martin Rapide could be worth saving.
Currently listed for sale on Copart with a $37,250 bid, the light brown-colored Rapide has just 9,153 miles on the odometer and allegedly still runs and drives.
The listing says that it has a salvage title due to flood damage but doesn't describe just how comprehensive the damage is. From the images provided, it is also hard to ascertain just how much of an effect the water has had on the luxurious British tourer.
The carpets and brown leather trimmings aren't covered in dirt or mud like some flood damaged cars often are, and pictures show that the navigation and infotainment system continue to function, as does the small digital display on the speedometer.
Copart says the Rapide has a value of $149,985 making it quite the bargain for the current $37,250 price tag. However, as is often the case with vehicles like this, it is difficult to determine if it'd be worth salvaging without seeing it in person.
Nevertheless, there's a good chance it could be repaired for far less than the $112,000 difference between it and a new one, even though its accident history will stick around until the end of time.
