The Aston Martin Vantage has been around for over a decade and that feels like a century in the competitive world of luxury performance coupes.
Aston Martin has embarked on ambitious plan to revitalize and expand its lineup and we've already seen the first fruits of its labor in the new DB11. Now, thanks to some patent filings in Japan, we might be getting our first look at the next-generation Vantage.
Looking bold and aggressive, the pictures show a sporty coupe which has slender headlights and a unique grille which echoes the Vulcan. Moving further back, we can see front fender vents, a rakish windscreen, and flush-mounted door handles. The rear of the car is particularly aggressive as it boasts a massive diffuser, a dual exhaust system, and a prominent spoiler.
The resulting design is a departure from the classic lines penned by Henrik Fisker so many years ago, but the model appears to remain pretty faithful to the company's new styling direction.
Aston Martin hasn't said much about the next Vantage but the model is expected to ride on a shortened version of the DB11's bonded aluminum platform. Engine options are also expected to be shared between the two models so expect the Vantage V8 to have an AMG-sourced twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 producing up to 503 bhp (375 kW) and 695 Nm (513 lb-ft) of torque.
