Lamborghini Urus Still Putting On The Miles At Nurburgring

Lamborghini are finally putting the final touches to the Urus, after a long development process that took many years.

Scooped in motion while lapping the Nurburgring, this prototype looks just about ready for showrooms, and unlike its siblings, the Huracan and Aventador, it sounds very civilized.

But there is a good reason for that, as the Italians will pin their new SUV against some of the most luxurious in the segment, such as the Bentley Bentayga and the upcoming Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

This means that it should be comfortable, while packing a huge power reserve from a twin-turbo V8 that's expected to lie under the hood, making some 650 horses. Following it approximately one year after its launch will be a second version, which will adopt a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Beneath its striking body, the Urus is sharing its underpinnings with other SUVs made by the Volkswagen Group, including one of its main rivals, the Bentley Bentayga, the new Audi Q7, and the next generation Porsche Cayenne.

Lamborghini is expected to drop the veil off their latest product this year, and to open the order books shortly after, before putting it into production in 2018.
