Even though the Porsche 718 and Audi RS33 are two fundamentally very different models, their performance figures remain comparable.
Before we say anything else, we will mention that this is the previous version of the RS3, which means that instead of 400PS (394hp), it packs "just" 367PS or 362hp, to go with 465 Nm (342 lb-ft) of torque under the hood.
The 718 Boxster S on the other hand makes do with 350 PS (345hp) and 420 Nm (309 lb-ft) of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds if you go for the manual, and 4.4 seconds if you get the PDK automatic.
Of course, the Audi isn't far off at all when it comes to accelerating from a standstill, hitting the mark in 4.3 seconds, with a little help from its Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Unfortunately for the compact Ingolstadt warrior, this drag race commenced with a rolling start, which means that the RS3's grip advantage was just about nullified, especially in those perfectly dry conditions.
Also worth considering is the fact that the 718 Boxster weighs a bit less at 1,430 kg (3,152 lbs), compared to the Audi's 1,595 kg (3,516 lbs). So, on which one of these two cars would you put your money on?
