In one of the strangest patent applications we’ve come across in recent months, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has applied to register the name ‘Angel’ as a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Discovered by Fiat Chrysler Authority, the automaker applied for the trademark on July 17th for use on “motor vehicles, namely, passenger automobiles, their structural parts, trim and badges.”
There’s no solid information available about what vehicle FCA intends on branding the Angel or if indeed it has been trademarked simply to prevent a rival automaker dubbing a Dodge Challenger Demon rival the ‘Angel.’
Although it would be cool to see the name applied to another special-edition muscle car, it would be even funnier if FCA badged one of its fuel-efficient hybrid models the Angel.
Do you have any good ideas for what the Angel trademark should be used for?
