Mercedes-AMG E63 S, BMW M5 And Audi RS7 In Battle Of The Hyper Saloons

Spending $100,000+ on an executive super saloon means checking out what Mercedes, BMW, and Audi have in store, but which of the three is the best?

There is no easy way to answer this question, because the E63 S, M5, and RS7 all offer a comfortable ride, spacious interior, plenty of boot space, and more power than a previous-gen supercar.

So, what's the best way to solve this dispute? Well, in this case, the guys at AutoTopNL decided to take out all three vehicles for an acceleration, top speed, and sound test, so you might want to grab that popcorn, because you're looking at a 10-min and 53-sec long video.

Before scrolling down, let's talk facts and numbers: the Mercedes-AMG E63 S is the newest of the three. It debuted last October and has 612PS (604hp) and 850Nm (627lb-ft) of torque, which allows it to cover the 0 to 100km/h (62mph) acceleration in just 3.3sec, before topping out at 250km/h (155mph), or 300km/h (186mph) with the AMG Driver's package.

After being around since 2011 in its current form, the BMW M5 F10 is getting ready to be replaced by a new generation. The automaker has already released some preliminary details about the car, which uses a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that delivers 600PS (592hp) and 700Nm (516lb-ft) of torque, and allows it to reach 100km/h (62mph) in less than 3.5sec.

By comparison, the current F10 M5 is 40PS (39hp) and 20Nm (15lb-ft) of torque less powerful, and needs just a little over 4 seconds to reach the 100km/h (62mph) mark.

The Audi RS7 Sportback, on the other hand, has been with us since 2013 and uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 560PS (552hp), while the Performance version is good for 605PS (596hp) and 750Nm (553lb-ft) of torque. Naught to 100km/h (62mph) in the latter takes just 3.7sec, or 1.4sec less than the former, and top speed can be raised up to 305km/h (190mph) with the dynamic package.

Each makes a compelling case for itself, but there can be only one winner, so watch the video after the break to find out who that is.
