Usually, when two RWD muscle cars meet up on the drag strip, we know it's going to be about which of them can get off to a better start.
This 2017 Corvette Z06 C7 is definitely a more modern car than its rival from this video, the Shelby GT500 (the most recent model), a car that entered production back in 2009, when it was also redesigned.
We don't know which model year this GT500 is, so if it's stock, it's either got 540 HP (547 PS) or 550 HP (557 PS), and a healthy 510 lb-ft (691 Nm) of torque either way. Then again, if it's a special edition or slightly tuned, it might have more going for it.
The C7 Corvette Z06 on the other hand packs 650 horses of its own, to go with its 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque, so on average, it's definitely got a sizable advantage over the older Shelby 500. The Vette will even do 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.95 seconds - "kinda" useful during a drag race.
As for who came out on top, we'll let you figure out which car ran the 1/4 mile in the high 11s and which one in the mid-12s.
