In the never-ending pursuit of building the world’s quickest street-legal Nissan GT-R, the record has fallen once again.
Over the weekend, Extreme Turbo Systems brought their 3,000 hp+ GT-R to the drag strip and set a new quarter mile record with a 6.91 second pass. During that run, the boost was taken to unexplored heights and the Japanese supercar span its wheels for most of the run, coming within inches of crashing.
Eager to beat its own record, ETS dialled down the boost and were able to set a blistering 6.88 second past at 222.93 mph (358 km/h).
In recent years, ETS has traded blows with AMS Performance and Ekanno Racing to build the world’s quickest GT-R. With a new record set, competition between the tuners will likely heat up further.
