New McLaren 570S Spider Passes The Goodwood Hill Climb Exam

The latest addition to the McLaren Super Series family, the 570S Spider, has been filmed in action on the famous Goodwood Hill Climb.

Priced from £164,750 ($213,660) in UK, the most affordable open-top model made in Woking celebrated its dynamic debut the other day, unleashing its 570PS (562hp) and 600Nm (442lb-ft) of torque produced by the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine.

McLaren says that despite the obvious weight penalty that comes with the new body style, the 570S Spider is as fast as the 570S Coupe, needing 3.2sec to reach 100km/h (62mph), from a standstill, and going all the way up to 328km/h (204mph), with its roof up. Fold it down, and the latter number will drop to 315km/h (196mph).

The key feature of the latest McLaren model is its retractable hardtop, which takes just 15 seconds to be lowered or raised, and can be operated at speeds of up to 40km/h (25mph).

The automaker already started taking orders for the new 570S Spider ever since it was unveiled, and customer deliveries are said to commence in August.
