Nico Rosberg Joins Robert Kubica's Management Team

Former Mercedes-AMG Petronas driver Nico Rosberg has teamed up with Robert Kubica's manager in an attempt to help the Polish driver get back to Formula 1 racing.

Kubica hasn't raced in F1 ever since his rally accident back in 2011, in which he injured in right arm badly. However, he's since tested F1 cars for Renault twice and is now able to drive without limitations, says manager Alessandro Bravi.

Now, despite Renault opting to sign Carlos Sainz Jr from Toro Rosso in 2018, Kubica's quest to return to F1 looks more on track than ever with current champion Nico Rosberg willing to help out.

"It's fantastic to be working on this with Nico. We've known each other since we were kids and he is, and will be, a great asset in my F1 comeback," said Kubica in an interview with Autosport.

Rosberg, who earlier this season hinted at possibly staying involved in F1 as a "counselor or in a management capacity", is now focused on helping Kubica reclaim his F1 seat.

"Robert and Lewis are the fastest I ever raced against," said the current F1 champion. "Therefore, I am thrilled to join forces with Robert on his journey back to racing in Formula 1."

Even though it's early to talk about next season, Kubica's options for 2018 could be limited with Mercedes resigning both drivers, McLaren and Force India possibly retaining Alonso and Perez respectively, and Toro Rosso and Sauber expected to promote young drivers. Racing for Williams alongside Lance Stroll could be his best bet.
