How Does The New Hyundai i30 Stack Up In The Compact Segment?

There's plenty of choice in the compact hatchback segment, from the Volkswagen Golf to the Opel/Vauxhall Astra, and from the Ford Focus to the Renault Megane.

But while these may be some of the most popular cars in their class, there are also others, such as the Hyundai i30, which is in its third generation.

Presented in Paris last year, the South Korean hatch is better than its predecessor. It features a modern exterior design , adequate rear legroom and headroom, enough storage spaces, and above average boot capacity, CarWow notes in their review.

Hitting the road reveals a soft suspension that's great to have on your daily commute, but not that good in corners. Gear shifting is alright, but the clutch can take time to get used to, and so does the braking pedal, which can be somewhat tricky to operate.

So is the new Hyundai i30 on the same level with the rest of the competition in the compact segment? Find out the verdict in the video posted below.
