2018 VW Up Remains On The City Car Throne

There are a lot of city cars available at the moment (at least in Europe), but new contenders must first beat the VW Up, if they want to claim a class-leading position in the segment.

The updated version of the German mini appears to tick all the right boxes in order to continue its successful career, with the facelift bringing a new front bumper, redesigned headlights with LED DRLs and similarly updated taillights and other updates.

The cabin offer more customization options, with 10 different dashboard panel designs, ambient lighting and new seat designs. The easy-to-use character remains, as everything is where you’d expect them to be.

Instead of installing one of their existing infotainment systems, VW has created an ingenious solution in the form of a smartphone dock; customers can mount their phones there and use the specific app that comes with the car for a fully functioning infotainment system.

The range includes VW’s 1.0-liter in three different states of tune, with the first two offering 59hp (60PS) and 74hp (75PS) accordingly and the third one being turbocharged and producing 88hp (90PS) and 118lb ft (160Nm) of torque.

It all sounds very good indeed but if you want to find out exactly how good it is, head over to Carwow’s latest review video below.
