Audi has announced its second foray into the world of car-sharing with the introduction of the Audi On Demand+ service.
The service is a premium version of Audi On Demand which was launched on a trial basis a couple of years ago. It has initially been introduced in Beijing, China and is expected to expand to other cities in the coming years.
Unlike Audi On Demand which featured varying rates between vehicles per mile driven, On Demand+ includes unlimited miles and insurance coverage on all vehicles booked through the smartphone application. What’s more, a concierge service simply drops off and picks up the user’s vehicle at the start and end of the booking.
Rental periods for Audi On Demand+ start at 4 hours and extend all the way to 30 days. Use of the service is billed by the hour. The carmaker says that the service will be restricted to Audi Sport models as well as premium, extended-wheelbase sedans.
