If talking about fully autonomous cars gets you down but you're not exactly sure why, it's probably because you're not looking forward to feeling melancholic.
This commercial for the 2017 Lexus IS really hits the nail on the head when it comes to one possible future regarding the automotive landscape. And with a tagline that reads 'Enjoy the thrill of Driving while you still can', you can probably guess what it's about.
While the IS isn't what you might call the benchmark in its segment when it comes to handling, it surely beats being driven around by an autonomous cube on wheels, or whatever that thing is.
Another interesting aspect here is the age difference between the two actors. The "younger version" seems to be in his late 20's or 30's, whereas the older man is probably in his 50's.
So then, where will we be as a society 20+ years from now? Will we miss driving our sports sedans in the year 2040? The fact that we might, really helps Lexus hit home with this commercial.
