The exterior design of the all-new Citroen C3 Aircross, the successor of the C3 Picasso, has likely been leaked via a scale model.
The new model moves away from the MPV roots of its predecessor for a more crossover-y vibe and is based on the same platform with the recently launched Opel Crossland X.
The leaked image, courtesy of Autoweek.nl, reveals a shape that builds on the familiar design of the latest C3 supermini, including the characteristic front end with the separate lighting elements and the signature side airbump protection panels.
The final production model was previewed by the C-Aircross Concept at the Geneva Motor Show and is certainly good to see that many of its elements are going to be transferred to the regular C3 Aircross model as well.
The engine range is expect to mirror the one in the Citroen C3, meaning a range of three- and four-cylinder petrol and diesel units. Just like the bigger Cactus models and the Opel Crossland X twin, the new Citroen C3 Aircross is not expected to be offered with all-wheel drive. Peugeot also plans to use the same platform for the next 2008.
Citroen plans to launch the new C3 Aircross towards the end of the year so expect a full reveal in the next few months.
