After the 2-Series Active Tourer was spotted hiding a small facelift back in May, we now have the updated 2-Series Gran Tourer making its first appearance in front of the cameras.
Unfortunately, all the changes are hidden under a thin, yet efficient layer of camouflage, much like with the Active Tourer earlier this year. Still, if this is to be BMW's first and only MPV (rumored not to get a successor), it's possible the automaker didn't hold back in making the car look and feel more modern.
In terms of what we can see clearly, there are the new headlights with sharper-looking angel eyes, and that's about it.
Of course, we can assume that underneath the camouflage is a fully updated front fascia with a restyled kidney grille and bumper, while the taillights might get new graphics when all is said and done - these prototypes have the current model's taillights fitted.
Other possible changes could include new color and trim options, new wheels, updated iDrive infotainment system, a new piece of tech or two to actively improve safety, and perhaps even some powertrain mods.
Both the 2-Series Active as well as Gran Tourer production ready models should surface either by the end of this year, or sometime in 2018.
