Five Seat Peugeot 4008 Arriving In 2020

Peugeot, Peugeot 4008, Reports, SUV
Peugeot is planning another addition to its family of SUVs, this time in the form of an all-new 4008, tipped to arrive in 2020.

Set to rival the likes of the Toyota C-HR, the Peugeot 4008 will essentially be a coupe variant of the 3008. As a result, it will have a sleek exterior design, slim side windows, a bespoke front grille, and a single light bar at the rear, Auto Express reports.

Underpinning the 4008 will be the EMP2 modular platform from the PSA Group, also used by the 3008 and 5008. Despite its common underpinnings, Peugeot will look to tweak the chassis and suspension of the 4008 to create a more involving driving experience and better handling characteristics.

In terms of engines, a three-cylinder PureTech turbo petrol will sit at the base of the range. It will be joined by the 1.6-liter THP engine of the DS 7 Crossback and should be complemented by a pair of BlueHDi diesels, displacing 1.6-liters and 2.0-liters respectively.

Customers will also be offered two different plug-in hybrids. The first will pair the 1.6-liter THP engine with a single electric motor at the front axle, delivering a total of 240 hp. The plug-in range will then be topped off with a variant using the 1.6-liter alongside electric motors at both axles. Up to 300 hp is possible.
