Mercedes-Benz Kicks Off New E-Class Cabriolet Production

The all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet has hit the assembly lines and will be soon coming to a dealer lot near you.

Completing the new-gen E-Class family, after the launch of the Sedan, Estate, Coupe, and All-Terrain, not counting the China-only LWB, the executive convertible is being put together at the brand's facility in Bremen, Germany.

The factory is home to more than 12,500 employees, and this is where the automaker assembles the Saloon, Estate, Coupe, and Cabriolet versions of the C-Class, the Coupe and Cabriolet variants of the E-Class, and the GLC, GLC Coupe, SLC, and SL.

"The new E-Class Cabriolet with its wide variety of equipment choices is an outstanding example of the high level of variance that we implement today in our plants", said Member of the Divisional Board of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Production, and Supply Chain, Markus Schafer. "Maximum flexibility is a central success factor in the production strategy of Mercedes-Benz Cars. With its strong team and start-up experience over recent years, the Bremen plant sets standards in the global production network."

Mercedes-Benz have already opened the order books for the new E-Class Cabriolet. Prices start from €54,228.30 ($60,689) in Germany for the most humble model, the E200, which uses a 184PS (181hp) 2.0-liter gasoline engine.

Customers can also order a special 25th Anniversary Edition pack, which adds some visual enhancements over the regular car, in addition to the generous list of optional features.
