Audi RS Q5 Reportedly Coming With New RS5 Coupe's 450 PS Engine

There have been talks about a possible range-topping high-performance version of the new-gen Audi Q5 for quite some time now, and it seems that such a model is finally happening.

Set to close the gap between the RS Q3 and the rumored RS Q8, it will challenge the likes of the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 and Porsche Macan Turbo.

AutoExpress reports that the RS Q5 will use from the same engine as the latest RS5 Coupe, a 2.9-liter TFSI bi-turbo V6 co-developed with Porsche. It's expected to maintain the same output, meaning 450PS (444hp) and 600Nm (443lb-ft) of torque, but due to the obvious weight penalty, the SUV should reach 100km/h (62mph) in less than 5 seconds, and the top speed will be electronically limited at 250km/h (155mph).

Visually, Ingolstadt's premium compact high-performance SUV should come with a beefed up body kit and bigger wheels, alongside front sports seats, carbon fiber trim inserts, and plusher equipment in the cabin.

Its official reveal date isn’t known so far, but, as the British publication states: "we won't have long to wait until the RS Q5 makes land-fall."
