Introduced last year as the brand's third car in the Indian market, the Datsun Redi-Go has now been updated with a few new features.
The most important addition to the lineup is a 1.0-liter engine, which generates 68PS (67hp) and 91Nm (67lb-ft) of torque. It's paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and it's the most powerful version of the vehicle, which was previously available only with an 0.8-liter three-cylinder.
Besides the new engine, Nissan's brand has also updated the Redi-Go's interior, which adds a new black theme, along with silver finishes. Completing the list of updates is a keyless entry system with central locking.
"At Datsun, we are constantly striving to challenge the status quo and disrupt conventional thinking about the entry-car segment in India,” said Datsun's VP, Jerome Saigon. "Today’s youth want a car that shows their personality with style, and the Redi-Go 1.0L is ready to meet their needs with more power and convenience."
Described as an 'urban crossover', the Datsun Redi'Go shares its underpinnings with the Renault Kwid. It rides on the CMF-A architecture, and was previewed by a study that debuted some 3 years ago.
