Nissan Reveals Two More Concepts For Tokyo, The e-NV200 Fridge And NV350 Paramedic

Set to debut at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show alongside the Leaf Nismo and mysterious concept car, are two new studies by Nissan.

The first one is called the Paramedic Concept, and it previews the production version of the fifth-gen ambulance, which goes on sale exclusively in Japan starting next year.

It builds upon the NV350 Caravan, uses a 2.5-liter gasoline engine married to a 5-speed automatic gearbox, and comes packed with some interesting technology, such as the one that helps reduce the spread of germs.

The Paramedic also benefits from a lithium-ion auxiliary battery that supports life-saving medical equipment, making it more suitable "to respond to emergencies, often in remote areas", according to the Renault-Nissan LCV Business Unit's Senior VP, Ashwani Gupta.

Baptized e-NV200 Fridge Concept, the second study is aimed at chilled food delivery. The manufacturer says that thanks to its compact size, it's easier to park in the ever-crowded cities, and in areas where large delivery trucks are sometimes prevented from stopping.

The Nissan e-NV200 Fridge features an additional 12kWh lithium-ion battery pack in the cargo space, which powers the refrigeration unit, in addition to the 24kWh unit that provides the juice for the electric motor that sets it in motion.
