You might expect to see an Aston Martin or two parked at an event like the Monaco Yacht Show. But in the water? Yes, in the water, too.
Last year, Aston Martin and Quintessence Yachts unveiled the fruit of their collaboration with the AM37, a 37-foot luxury speedboat styled in the likeness of the British sports cars.
Now they've returned to the boat exposition that takes place from 27-30 September 2017, with an even more powerful version. Instead of the pair of 370-horsepower diesels (or 430-hp gasoline engines), the AM37S packs twin 520-hp gasoline engines by Mercury Racing, to give the yacht a combined output of 1,040 sea stallions.
That's almost as much as the 1,130 hp in the Valkyrie. In a vessel much larger (and heavier), it won't be quite as fast, but it should prove quite the thrill on the open water.
Each vessel is made to order with a range of options, and two individually configured examples will be on show in Monte Carlo this week: one in red with cream leather, the other in teal with ivory leather. They feature smartphone-controlled sliding carbon-fiber cockpit panels, retractable swim platform, and a 15-inch touchscreen display.
The AM37 isn't the only watercraft bearing the Aston Martin name, though, the automaker having just revealed plans for a personal submersible called Project Neptune in partnership with Triton Submarines.
