Nissan GT-R Has A Tough Time Against The Slingshot Called Audi TT RS

It seems like everyone is trying to beat the Nissan GT-R on a straight line, with the latest challenger being the less powerful but cheeky nevertheless Audi TT RS.

Unlike previous drag races, where the latest version of the GT-R was put up against proper metal, including various Porsches, McLarens and the occasional Lambo, this time Top Gear magazine got a smaller and more affordable coupe that’s already making some noise with its straight-line abilities.

The new Audi TT RS is powered by one gem of an engine: the five-cylinder 2.5-liter TFSI with 400 horses and 354lb-ft of torque. Paired to a very fast seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the powertrain sends power to all four wheels, causing the King of TTs to perform a 0-60mph in a supercar-like 3.6 seconds.

Before starting pointing out that the TT RS is still 170hp down on the mighty GT-R, learn that the German is also 310kg (683lbs) lighter than the iconic Nissan.

Power of course is still everything but the end result would probably help the Audi TT shed the hairdresser image sooner than later.
