2018 Audi R8 V10 RWS Goes Tokyo Drift In Underground Parking Lot

It's okay to feel hyped about the new Audi R8 V10 RWS, because this version of the German supercar is truly targeted to purists.

It debuted last month in Frankfurt and sports a few minor visual tweaks over its all-wheel drive siblings, with the most important one being the stripe that runs across the top of the car.

However, beneath the sheet-metal is where the action takes place: it packs a 5.2-liter V10 naturally aspirated engine, rated at 540PS (532hp) and 540Nm (398lb-ft) of torque. Thee 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint is completed in 3.7sec by the Coupe and 3.8sec by the Spyder, while top speed stands at 319km/h (198mph), and 317km/h (197mph), respectively.

So how would you promote a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive supercar that shares much of its DNA with the Lamborghini Huracan? Well, Audi took it to an underground parking lot, where this R8 was more than eager to prove its tail-shaking abilities.

You might also notice that the man holding the wheel doesn’t wear a racing suit and helmet, as his casual appearance indirectly says that the new Audi R8 RWS is suitable as an everyday machine, in between the usual track runs. Nicely done, Audi!
