New Rolls-Royce Phantom Lowers Its Roof, Becomes Drophead Coupe

It's only a matter of time until Rolls-Royce expands the new generation Phantom family with other derivatives.

However, until they do, we can get an idea on how the upcoming Drophead Coupe - which is the British brand's moniker for convertibles, will look like, as imagined by XTomi.

The design of the ultra luxurious cabrio follows the look of its fixed roof sibling. Look closer and you will see that the front fenders are notably longer, and so are the rear , a necessary asset since the artist didn’t make the doors longer.

The next Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe will probably come with a foldable soft top similar to that used on the current model, and since it needs a stiffer body to cope with the chopped roof, you should expect a small weight penalty as well.

These changes won't affect its performance that much, as it will still use the new 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that powers the saloon, making 571PS (563hp) and 900Nm (663lb-ft) of torque.
