Tesla's New 21" Model S Wheels Go For The Princely Sum Of $4,500

Tesla Model S buyers who would rather ditch the car’s standard 19″ wheels in favor of something larger, finally have something new they can order.

Dubbed the Sonic Carbon Twin Turbine wheels, they measure 21″ and cost a whooping $4,500. Unlike the old Turbine design, the new one comes with sharper spokes and a different cover for the lug nuts.

If that seems like too much for a set of wheels, you can always stick with the stock 19″ ones, or pay an extra $1,500 to have them in Sonic Carbon Slipstream form.

The stock 19″ Slipstream wheels were introduced to the lineup back in 2016 and they actually resemble the Turbine design of the larger wheels.

Opting for the Winter Wheel package on the Model S will still land you the old Turbine wheels, as reported by Electrek. For the moment, those rims seem to be available only for the Model S, as there’s no word about the Model X SUV or the entry-level Model 3 so far.
